Andy Warhol, continued

Warhol

   Andy Warhol

Warhol’s friend George Plimpton said, “What always struck me about Andy was how ill-suited he was for success — pasty-faced, a white wig, fragile, a body crisscrossed with scars from an assassination attempt, gay, shy, faltering of speech, nonassertive, so unsure of himself that in 1967 he sent an impersonator on a ‘Warhol’ lecture tour. He was, in fact, perfectly equipped to slide into utter obscurity.”

Quotations from Andy Warhol:
“I want everybody to think alike. I think everybody should be a machine.”
   “I like boring things.”
“I think somebody should be able to do all my paintings for me.”
